PROJECT OVERVIEW


Promoting the fantasy drama, His Dark Materials, a series based on the trilogy of novels by Philip Pullman.

This social campaign blended suspenseful motion graphics with interactive elements, that gradually revealed facets of the series and built anticipation for each episode.

Working alongside a team of designers we created various interactive assets such as workbooks that recapped each episode, flat lays reflecting each character’s essence and a Twitter activation where fans could find out what their daemon was.

To recap each episode we created an interactive workbook for fans to discuss the show. How evil do you think Coulter is or Which Daemon do you think is the cutest? We let fans have their say using Instagram’s interactive features. At the end of each workbook we would also tease what was going to happen in the next episode. Utilising the Alethiometer symbols sparking mystery among fans.

The assets carried a rich and atmospheric tone, mirroring the show's complex and magical universe. Employing a blend of cinematic visuals and detailed animations. Using slow glowing transitions and golden textures to match the series aesthetic.

Daemon’s were the true stars of the show, cute and evil seem to always mix well. So we took over HBO Asia’s Twitter to provide fans with their very own daemon.

By asking fans to send us their 3 favourite emojis we created a personalised asset that featured their own daemon. Thousands of fans sent us emojis capturing attention and generating excitement among fans.
